Akshay Kumar is set to make his Marathi debut with filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar's film Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat.
Akshay Kumar looked dashing in a white shirt paired with black pants, while Mahesh Manjrekar was seen in a traditional ensemble. In the film, the actor will play the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, as per a Entertainmet Portal.
During the event, Mahesh Manjeraker revealed that it was his wish to work with Akshay Kumar. "It was my wish to work with Akshay. And for this role I couldn't see any other actor but him. We wanted a certain personality and look and Akshay had the apt image to play a Hindu raja," PTI quoted the director saying.
Apart from Akshay Kumar, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief and founder, Raj Thackeray were also present, apart from Mahesh Manjrekar himself.
Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat, produced by Vaseem Qureshi, is scheduled to release in theatres on Diwali 2023. It will release in four regional languages - Marathi, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
