My statement has been misused
Mahesh recently told Bollywood cannot afford him, which created quite a stir over here with people and celebrities reacting to Mahesh Babu’s statement.
When asked to clarify this statement, Mahesh Babu says "My statement has been misused. When I said they cannot afford me, I meant that I am happy doing films here and have huge stardom. So, for Bollywood to do films with me will be a bit difficult because of my image here. My next film with Rajamouli will be pan-India. All I want to say is my Telugu films should work in Hindi as well and I won't be doing any direct Hindi film."
My dream has come true with Baahubali and RRR
When asked about south films clicking in Hindi, Mahesh says "from day one, I always wanted our Telugu films to work all over the country. Things came true with Baahubali and now films like RRR, Pushpa, and KGF 2 have only proved. I feel that our Telugu films are no less and it is high time they click India wide".
Mahesh Babu is doing a film with Rajamouli. When asked about it, he says "I wanted to work with him for the longest time but things have finally fallen into place now. The film will be the biggest of my career and I cannot wait to work on it. We have locked a few ideas and am super thrilled about it.
When asked why he chose Sarkaru Vaari Pata, Mahesh says "My last few films have been message-oriented dramas. I felt that the audience needs to see me in a fun avatar. When this script came up, I loved the fun quotient and the way a serious issue has been handled. So, I decided to do it"
When asked why he does not experiment much with his films, Mahesh says "I have experimented a lot with my films in the years gone by. But all those projects flopped and brought heavy losses. That is the reason, I don't experiment much. If you see carefully, I have played it quite safe with my last few films and all of them have become good hits"
Mahesh Babu's next film is with star director Trivikram. When asked about it, he says "It has been a long time since I have teamed up with Trivikram. I am super excited to mouth his dialogues. The story has come out quite well and I will be showcased in a super stylish manner".
On coming back after a gap of two years and lessons learnt
“Thanks to Covid, I got enough time with my family. I was also tensed like any other person but thankfully got so much time to spend with my kids. I had a ball staying home and even learned to swim during these lockdowns".
Mahesh says "All the credit should go to my wife Namrata. She takes care of everything. Right from my finances to the Ads I do and my production house, she is the one behind everything. My life is sorted and I need to thank my wife for that”.
