Badboli Bhavna movie review: Thought Provoking
What: Badboli Bhavna - The Amazon miniTV short throws some insights into marital discord germinating under the shroud of social media addiction.
OTT movie Badboli Bhavna movie review
Social media is an unassuming evil. It wreaks havoc in your personal life. It can even disrupt your conjugal harmony.
The marital discord as seen between a healthy couple - Bhavna and Sankalp, played by Apoorva Arora and Ankush Bahuguna (real life YouTuber) respectively, on the eve of their 2nd marriage anniversary is a testament to this.
She is a social media influencer and he is her introvert husband. While Bhavna is garnering likes and followers, Sankalp is seemingly unhappy and insecure, and strongly feels that her frenzied pursuit for digital fanbase is going to ruin their personal harmony.
From his standpoint, all that matters to her is reaching the one million follower’s milestone.
Throwing some insights into this sensitive space, director Pranjal Dua stages their squabble over a dinner table in a light hearted and comic fashion. In a span of 30 minutes, the narrative goes into flashback mode and picks some interesting episodes from their lives.
Both Ankush and Apoorva act confidently, without a hint of affectation.
The short, however, ends on a sweet reconciling note. It's a charming one, I strongly suggest you take your time out for this.
Badboli Bhavna is streaming on Amazon miniTV and is produced under the banner of ILN Studios.
