The third week of January is plain at the box office with zero movie releases, however, the digital space has got it covered. While no movies are releasing in theaters this week, two movies are premiering on the OTT platform. Adding to that some much-awaited web series are also making their way. Take a look at my recommendations on movies and web series releasing on OTT this Friday.
This week on Friday i.e 20th Jan 2023 we have the list of movies and series to be released.
1) Mission Majnu :
Nodding to the plotlines of Alia Bhatt starrer Raazi and the recent OTT release, Mukhbir, this film stars Siddharth Malhotra playing an Indian spy who is despatched on a covert mission to Pakistan to expose a nuclear attack. The story is set in the 1970s and stars Rashmika Mandanna, Payment Sethi, Kumud Mishra and Arjan Bajwa, and is directed by Shantanu Bagchi. Mission Majnu releases on Netflix on 20th January 2023.
2) Chhatriwali :
Set in Karnal, the film is about Sanya Dhingra, a female unemployed chemistry genius, who is looking for a job and at the same time she uses her skills to fight an important societal taboo of educating the youth about Sex Education. Starring Rakulpreet in the lead who is ably supported by Sumeet Vyas, Satish Kaushik and Rajesh Tailang, the film drops on Zee5 on 20th January 2023.
3) Cinema Marte Dum Tak :
Amazon Prime Video has collaborated with the filmmaker Vasan Bala to take the audience back to the 1990s in the unscripted docu-series 'Cinema Marte Dam Tak'. The docu-series will give a sneak peek into the B-grade industry in the 90s along with some well-known filmmakers from that era.The 6 episode series releases on 20th January 2023.
4) FAUDA Season 4 :
The immensely popular Israeli series is back with a new season comprising 12 episodes centered on a relentless cat and mouse game an IDF Agent and Palestinian fighter, starring Lior Raz. Streams on Netflix from 20th January 2023.
5) ATM : Telugu :
Jagan leads a dangerous lifestyle. He makes a living stealing money from other people, alongside his three underdog travelling companions. Whatever the reason, their propensity for shortcuts eventually puts them in danger. ATM is a crime heist thriller set in Hyderabad.Starring Krishna Burugula, Ravi Raj, Roiel Shree, Divi Vadthya, Divya Vani, and Prudhvi Raj, the series is directed by Chandra Mohan while the story is penned by Harish Shankar, and produced by Dil Raju. ATM Premieres on Zee5 on 20th January 2023.
