Grammy 2025: Indian-origin Chandrika Tandon wins
Chandrika Tandon, the 71-year-old musician from Indian origin won the 67th Grammy for her recent collaborative album in the Best New Age, Ambient or Chant Album category.
Chandrika Tandon is an Indian-American global business leader and musician, Chandrika Tandon won the Grammy for her album ‘Triveni’. an album which blends ancient chants with world music, at the 67th Grammy Awards. Chandrika Tandon calls the seven-track album as “inner healing”.
Chandrika Tandon has collaborated with South African flautist Wouter Kellerman and Japanese cellist Eru Matsumoto to present age-old Vedic chants in the album named after the confluence of three rivers.
“Music is love, music ignites the light within all of us, and, even in our darkest days, music spreads joy and laughter,” Chandrika Tandon has been reportedly quoted saying while receiving the coveted award in Los Angeles.

Real name Chandrika Krishnamoorthy Tandon is raised in a traditional and orthodox middle-class home in Chennai and a Madras Christian College alumna.
Chandrika Tandon is the older sister of former PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi. She grew up in Chennai and studied at Madras Christian College. She holds a master’s degree from IIM Ahmedabad. She was the first Indian-American woman to be elected partner at McKinsey and Company.
This was Tandon's second Grammy nomination after 2009's Soul Call and first win.
Chandrika Tandon is also a composer and vocalist, having been trained in Hindustani, Carnatic, and Western music. She released her debut album, Soul Call, in 2009, which earned a Grammy nomination for Contemporary World Music in 2011. Triveni is her sixth album.
Released on August 30, 2024, each of the seven tracks of 'Triveni' are titled Pathway to Light, Chant in A, Journey Within, Aether's Serenade, Ancient Moon, Open Sky, and Seeking Shakti.
Chandrika Tandon, has learnt music from classical singer Shubhra Guha and vocalist Girish Wazalwar.
Chandrika Tandon has beaten Ricky Kej, sitar player Anoushka Shankar, and Indian-origin British artist Radhika Vekaria to bag her coveted first Grammy.
