Happy birthday to the master storyteller!
So grateful and honoured to have been directed by you. Wishing you all the love and happiness in the world❤️@ssrajamouli pic.twitter.com/8XGLtx0eAE
Sharing the picture with SS Rajamouli, Alia's said, "Happy Birthday to the master storyteller! So grateful and honoured to have been directed by you! Wishing you all the love and happiness in the world."
Son of noted Telugu writer K. V. Vijayendra Prasad –Rajamouli as a kid was awed by one of the most popular Indian comic called ‘Amar Chitra Katha’.
The folklore, mythology, stories about Indian historical figures, the epic, the grandiosity, the scale made a huge impact in the mind and heart of the young Rajamouli. It is reported that Rajamouli shared his Amar Chitra Katha experience with his friends like many of us have done in our childhood after watching a movie of our favourite star.
But Rajamouli had something unique in him, it is said that he told stories from Amar Chitra Katha with his own interpretation.
And this reportedly happened at the age of seven. So a grand storyteller was already in the making at the age of seven.
“Mayabazar' was the film I immensely loved as a kid. Only when I became a filmmaker about 20 years later did I realize its technical marvel and what a great epic it was”. Rajamouli has been quoted sharing this. The movie has made a huge impact on the maverick’s mind and the Baahubali and RRR director while interacting with media during Baahubali promotions has said that “Old classic 'Mayabazar' caught the attention of me. So, I was inspired to make fantasies. I used to discuss about each every shot in Mayabazaar with many people. The inspiration for making Baahubali is Mayabazar movie".
One of the greatest Telugu movies, a true milestone, Mayabazar is a 1957 Indian epic fantasy directed by K. V. Reddy. Starring he legendary N. T. Rama Rao as Lord Krishna, S. V. Ranga Rao as Ghatotkacha, Akkineni Nageswara Rao (Abhimanyu – Telugu version), Gemini Ganesan (Arjun in the Tamil version with his love - Balarama's daughter (Savitri).
Produced by B. Nagi Reddy and Aluri Chakrapani under their banner, Vijaya Vauhini Studios.
Mayabazar was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil languages; the story is an adaptation of the folk tale Sasirekha Parinayam, based on the epic Mahabharata.
We all call him a maverick, a genius, a master but the filmmaker in all humility prefers to be called as ‘Raja’
We at cineblues.com wish the maverick genius a very happy, healthy and epic birthday.
