Venom: The Last Dance review: Buddy Good Farewell!
What: ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ - Tom Hardy mumble mouth escapades with the helmet head alien in the third and final entry in the Marvel’s ‘Venom’ movie series is fun and an ode to bromance.
Venom: The Last Dance movie synopsis
The plot picks up after the events of ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’, with Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and Venom on the run from both human and alien forces. A prologue shows a ghoul with an untidy hair - Knull who calls himself “god of the void.”.
Extremely furious on his symbiote children who have betrayed and imprisoned him in some dark cavern in a distant universe, Knull now wants freedom and dispatches a bunch of deadly creatures called xenophages – the creepy giant spidery-reptilian who love to feed on symbiotes.
Knull just wants that ‘key’ which will free him from his cage from that distant universe. The key called ‘codex’ is in possession of one of the symbiotes.
You don’t have to be an Einstein to guess who has the codex.
Venom: The Last Dance movie review
Kelly Marcel the writer and producer on 2018’s ‘Venom’ and 2021’s ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ debuts as director here. Kelly Marcel does tries something new and develops the final episode of the triology on an original story.
‘Venom : The Last Dance’ is fast paced, fun, silly and chaotic as its predecessors. Fans will be surprised to see new symbiotes and Rhys Ifans as Martin – the hippie alien enthusiast.
Kelly Marcel in her debut as director makes sure that the fans of Venom and Tom Hardy are not at all disappointed. ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ is lively and is loaded with bromance and fun. The banter between Tom Hardy and the helmet-headed alien with scary teeth and that tongue inspired from Simmons remains the biggest asset.
From funny, surreal to hilarious, Eddie and Venom are having a ball and of course, the high-octane wild action makes it a perfect outing.
Tom Hardy as Eddie and Venom infuses charm throughout. I loved the transformation of symbiotes during the high-octane wild action climax when they turn into horse, fish, etc. Kids will love it.
How much further can you explore in such weird, funny, PG certified cgi super hero franchise? the limitations can be noticed. The high-octane wild action climax was messy as well.
Nevertheless, ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ is an entertaining conclusion to the triology. It will satisfy the fans and make its target audience happy without doing anything path breaking in the sci fi cgi superhero genre.
Going with a deserving 3.5 stars
‘Venom : The Last Dance’ s releasing in theatres on October, 25, 2024.
