The Diplomat movie synopsis

Based on a true story, the film follows the Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh (John Abraham) who brings an Indian girl from Uzma Ahmed (Sadia Khateeb) from Pakistan after she is forced into marrying against her will and tortured.

The movie highlights the grit of Uzma and the extraordinary humanitarian efforts by the External Affairs Minister during those times – late Sushma Swaraj (played by Revathy in the film) and the Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh (played by John Abraham in the film)
