Tiger 3 trailer review: Salman Khan’s final bid to his stardom, will he?, won’t he? Find out!
Finally, Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 trailer is out and this time its personal. And yes, it is personal.
It is personal because Salman Khan desperately needs a hit to revive his fast fading stardom. His last genuine money spinner was Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) that collected a whooping five hundred and seventy crore worldwide. It has been around six years now and the Bollywood Dabangg is yet to give a genuine hit.
All eyes are on Tiger 3 now after the disaster called Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Yes ‘bhai’ appeared in a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan’s grand comeback to stardom Pathaan but woh toh SRK ki film thi na Any ways now that the trailer has dropped, lets analyse what can be the fate of Salman Khan from whatever we see in the trailer.
Tiger 3 trailer plus points
Salman Khan is back as Salman Khan as Avinash "Tiger" Singh Rathore - ex-RAW agent
The action seems to be the major highlight
The inclusion family gives it an emotional touch
This time its not only about the nation
Katrina Kaif as Zoya, Tiger's wife and ex-ISI agent has an important role to play.
Salman Khan action scene should please the masses and his fans
Katrina Kaif can spin a surprise
Last but not the least
Emraan Hashmi as the villain is an interesting choice
Though he is shown last in the end of the trailer
Am expecting the character of Emraan Hashmi strong as the character of John Abraham in Pathaan.
Tiger 3 minus points
The plot seems to be highly predictable. Whatever we see in the trailer it seems that the story credited to the Aditya Chopra (also the producer) with screenplay by Shridhar Raghavan has given us a revenge action thriller that relies heavily on Salman’s stardom, YRF’s Spy Universe franchise and action.
The trailer lacks the wow element
A punchline from Salman Khan is missing
Salman Khan’s new dance movie is missing from the trailer.
Maneesh Sharma is a talented director and he has proven his hand in slice of life romantic drama like Band Baaja Baaraat (2010) after that he has disappointed with movies Ladies vs Ricky Bahl (2011), Shuddh Desi Romance (2013) and yes Maneesh is the culprit of that blunder called Fan starring Shah Rukh Khan in double role.
Now to expect a spy solid action thriller to maintain the repertoire of YRF much touted spy universe needs to be seen.
Manish may score on emotional scenes but the action, twist, turns from a highly expected spy franchise is a real task and great responsibility. The trailer has not given hint of anything extraordinary.
Conclusion
Tiger 3 trailer is good but its not good enough to give us the wow element. The fandom of Salman Khan may be upbeat but we needed a punchline, a hook that makes us very excited.
Shah Rukh Khan cameo might be a something special and I am of the opinion that Emraan Hashmi gets a deadly back story to make the rivalry more intense and face off moments clap worthy in the actual movie which releases on Diwali – November 12, 2023 this year.
Verdict
Its reportedly made at a budget of three hundred cores, considering the benefit of Yash Raj Films as the distributor as well, Tiger 3 still has to earn a respectable six hundred cores to justify its grand Diwali release, Salman Khan’s stardom and the unstoppable success run of YRF’s spy universe.
From whatever we see in the trailer, Tiger 3 won’t be a flop at least, it may recover its cost but its chances to be a blockbuster/money-spinner purely depends on the movie’s merit and not grand Diwali Holiday bonus and Salman Khan’s stardom. Salman Khan luck on Diwali is dismal with only Rajshri coming to his rescue on Diwali with Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2014) and Hum Saath Saath Hai (1999) in his entire career spanning thirty-five years.
